    Abstract
    Chili is the one of vegetable commodities that has a great prospects to be developed. The one act to increase production of chili with organic and inorganic mulching. In addition to increasing the production, mulch can determines macro beneficial soil fauna in crops chili. This Research was conducted on agricultural land, Faculty of Agriculture, USU. The aim of this research was to find out the Macrofauna of Soil Diversity In Chili Plants (Capsicum Annum L.) With The Use Of Organic And Inorganic Mulch. This research using random method of group (RAK) non factorial with 4 treatments mulch namely (organic mulch, organic mulch + Bacillus Sp., organic Mulch + Bacillus Sp. + Trichoderma, mulch Plastic). This diversity is determined by diversity index (Shannon-Wienner). The results indicated that the macro fauna spesies caught are the family Salticidae, Formicidae, Gryllidae.
     
    Cabai merupakan salah satu komoditi sayuran yang memiliki prospek yang besar untuk dikembangkan. Salah satu usaha untuk meningkatkan produksi cabai dengan penggunaan mulsa. Baik mulsa organik maupun anorganik. Selain meningkatkan produksi mulsa juga menentukan keberadaan makro fauna tanah yang bermanfaat pada pertanaman Cabai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Keanekaragaman Makrofauna Tanah Pada Tanaman Cabai (Capsicum annum L.) dengan Penggunaan Mulsa Organik dan Anorganik di Dataran Rendah. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Lahan Pertanian, Fakultas Pertanian, USU, Medan dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Non Faktorial dengan 4 perlakuan (mulsa organik, mulsa organik +Bakteri bacillus sp., mulsa organik +bacillus sp. +trichoderma, mulsa plastik). Keanekaragaman dinilai dengan Indeks Keanekaragaman (Shannon-wienner). Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan jenis makro fauna yang terperangkap adalah famili Salticidae, Formicidae, Tettigoniidae.
