dc.description.abstractBackground : Corn oil contain unsaturated fatty acids such as linoleic acid and have a high level of tocopherol (vitamin E). The benefits of nacocream as topical preparation is to increase the absorption of active substances on the skin and stable in storage. Purpose : The purpose of this study was to formulate corn oil in nanocream preparations and evaluate its physical stability and determine its anti – aging effectiveness. Method : This study used an experimental method that began with formulating corn oil nanocream preparations using Tween 80 (36%) as surfactant, Propilen glikol (6%) as co-surfactant. Corn oil then varied into F1 (5%), F2 (7,5%) and F3 (10%), then tested the particle size of nanocream formed. After that, select the smallest nanocream size (10%) and made into a cream preparations, then compared the stability and effectiveness of anti-aging with the same concentration. Evaluation of the preparation included stability of the formulas, emulsion type, homogeneity, surface tension, particle size, pH, viscosity, centrifugation, cycling test for 6 cycles, skin irritation test and anti-aging effectiveness human skin test with skin analyzer. Results : The results showed that nanocream containing 5%, 7,5%, and 10% (F1, F2, F3) were milky white and had a specific smell. All formula were stable in storage at room temperature 12 weeks, high temperature, and cycling test. Nanocream of F3 in storage had the smallest particle size with average particle size 295.11 nm to 342.76 nm after 12 weeks of storage. Nanocream and cream corn oil 10% did not irritate the skin face of volunteers’. Nanocream showed activity of anti-aging better than cream, it showed at skin volunteers moisture used nanocream from dehydrated to be normal while used cream still dehydrated, evenness from normal to be smooth while with cream still normal. In term of parameters pore, spot and wrinkle showed the same changes of this volunteers’ skin condition after using 4 weeks of nanocream or cream. Conclusion : Corn oil can be formulated as nanocream. Corn oil 10% nanocream has better anti-aging activity compared to other formulas and cream, also stable in storage at room temperature, high temperature and cycling test.en_US
