dc.description.abstractAfter the 2004 tsunami, Aceh mangrove began to recover both natural and man made by various parties through many rehabilitation projects. However, the condition of mangrove recovery at 12 years after the tsunami is not known, yet. This study aimed to examine the structure of mangrove vegetation, to analyze the composition of mangrove vegetation species, and to analyze the mangrove community groups at 12 years after the 2004 tsunami. Field research was conducted from December 2016 until January 2017 located on the north coast of Aceh, especially in Gampong Jawa Village, Banda Aceh City and west coast of Aceh, especially in Lamseunia Village, Aceh Besar District. The vegetation analyses was done by combination of line and quadrat method. Based on the study, there are 16 species of mangrove plants where 9 species and 11 species were distributed at west and north coasts of Aceh. Respectively, there were 3 species namely Avicennia marina, Bruguiera sexangula, and Sonneratia caseolaris that they distributed at all regions. Nypa fruticans dominated with important value index (IVI) of 162.12% at north coast of Aceh with vertical structure was dominated by heigh class of 6-<8 m (59 ind/ha). Subsequently, at the west coast of Aceh, Bruguiera sexangula was recorded as dominant species (IVI = 74.92%) and vertical structure was dominated by height class of 4-<6 m (673 ind/ha). Horizontal structure of trees both at west and north coasts of Aceh were dominated by diameter class of 0-<5 cm and 5-<10 cm. The mangrove community at west and north coasts of Aceh consisted of 8 groups of lower plants, 6 groups of seedling, 6 groups of sapling, and 5 groups of tree stage. Based on the results, there was differences in both vegetation structures, compositions and communities between west and north coast of Aceh. Therefore, appropriate management is required to consider the conditions of mangrove communities and the environment in each region as well as the regular monitoring is needed to evaluate the mangrove recovery.en_US
dc.description.abstractPasca tsunami 2004, mangrove Aceh mulai mengalami pemulihan baik secara alami maupun buatan oleh berbagai pihak melalui banyak proyek rehabilitasi. Namun, kondisi pemulihan mangrove pada 12 tahun setelah tsunami belum diketahui. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji struktur vegetasi mangrove, menganalisis komposisi jenis vegetasi mangrove, dan menganalisis kelompok komunitas mangrove pada 12 tahun setelah tsunami 2004. Penelitian lapangan dilakukan pada bulan Desember 2016 sampai Januari 2017 yang berlokasi di pantai utara Aceh khususnya di Desa Gampong Jawa, Kota Banda Aceh dan pantai barat Aceh khususnya di Desa Lamseunia Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Analisis vegetasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kombinasi jalur dan garis berpetak. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ada 16 jenis tanaman mangrove dimana 9 jenis dan 11 Jenis didistribusikan di pantai barat dan utara Aceh. Ada 3 spesies, yaitu jenis Avicennia marina,Bruguiera sexangula,danSonneratia caseolaris yang mereka disitribusikan disemua wilayah. Nypa fruticans merupakan jenis yang paling dominan dengan INP sebesar 162,12% di pantai utara Aceh dengan struktur vertikal didominasi oleh kelas tinggi 6-<8 m (59 ind/ha). Selanjutnya, di pantai barat Aceh, Bruguiera sexangula tercatat sebagai jenis dominan dengan INP 74,92% dan struktur vertikal didominasi oleh kelas tinggi 4-<6 m (673 ind/ha). Struktur horizontal pohon baik di pantai barat dan utara Aceh didominasi oleh kelas diameter 0-<5 cm dan 5-<10 cm. Komunitas tumbuhan pada kawasan pantai barat dan utara Aceh terdiri dari 8 kelompok tingkat tumbuhan bawah, 6 kelompok tingkat semai, 6 kelompok tingkat pancang, dan 5 kelompok tingkat pohon. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ada perbedaan dalam struktur vegetasi, komposisi dan komunitas antara pantai barat dan pantai utara Aceh. Oleh karenaitu, manajemen yang tepat diperlukan untuk mempertimbangkan kondisi komunitas mangrove dan lingkungan di masing-masing wilayah serta pemantauan rutin diperlukan untuk mengevaluasi pemulihan mangrove.en_US
