dc.description.abstractSumatran orangutans belong to the endangered wildlife category based on the list of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN). Bukit Lawang is the habitat of Sumatran orangutans (Pongo abelii) located in Gunung Leuser National Park area. The purpose of this study is to analyze the irregularities of individual behavior of orangutans due to the activities of ecotourism visitors in Bukit Lawang Gunung Leuser National Park. The research was conducted on August to November 2017 by Focal Animal Sampling method. The object of the study consisted of 3 individual orangutans (1 individual semi-wild female, 1 wild female individual, and 1 wild male). The total percentage of deviation behavior of the three individual observation objects was 36.39% from 5 categories ie moving (17.1%), eating (7.68%), rest (6.4%), social (2.67%), and nesting (2.53%). Total percentage deviation behavior of each individu was found as below ; semi-wild orangutan (Minah) 34,77%, wild male orangutan 19,97% and wild female 16,49% when there was visitor activities. While the total percentage of behavior deviation when there was no visitor activities was semi-wild orangutan (Minah) 15.47%, wild male orangutan 16.06%, and orangutan wild female 5,56%. In general, larger behavioral deviations occur when there was visitor activities.en_US
dc.description.abstractOrangutan Sumatera termasuk dalam kategori satwa yang terancam punah berdasarkan daftar dari International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN). Bukit Lawang merupakan habitat orangutan Sumatera (Pongo abelii) yang berada di kawasan Taman Nasional Gunung Leuser. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk menganalisis penyimpangan perilaku individu orangutan akibat aktivitas pengunjung ekowisata di Bukit Lawang Taman Nasional Gunung Leuser. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Agustus sampai November 2017 dengan metode Focal Animal Sampling. Objek Penelitian terdiri dari 3 individu orangutan (1 individu betina semi liar, 1 individu betina liar, dan 1 individu jantan liar). Total persentase penyimpangan perilaku ketiga individu objek pengamatan sebesar 36,39% dari 5 kategori yaitu bergerak (17,1%), makan (7,68%), istirahat (6,4%), sosial (2,67%), dan bersarang (2,53%). Total persentase penyimpangan perilaku masing-masing individu yakni orangutan semi liar Minah (34,77%), orangutan Jantan liar (19,97%) dan orangutan Betina liar (16,49%) saat ada aktivitas pengunjung. Sedangkan total persentase penyimpangan perilaku saat tidak ada aktivitas pengunjung yakni orangutan semi liar Minah (15,47%), orangutan Jantan liar (16,06%), dan orangutan Betina liar (5,56%). Secara umum penyimpangan perilaku lebih besar terjadi saat ada aktivitas pengunjung.en_US
