    Pembuatan dan Karakterisasi Film Berbasis Karboksimetil Selulosa dari Daun Gebang (Corypha utan), Polivinil Alkohol dan Asam Sitrat untuk Aplikasi Antibakteri

    Abstract
    Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC)/polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) films were prepared by crosslinking method. The films were chemically crosslinked with citric acid (CA) for tuning their properties. The formation of CMC/PVA/CA films was confirmed using X-ray diffraction, FT-IR spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. In addition, the films were tested for antibacterial activities. The results indicate that the hydrogen bond interactions between CMC/PVA and CA can be formed. The films demonstrated excellent antibacterial effects against E. coli and S. aureus. The addition of CA can efficiently improve the water absorbtion of the films. Moreover, the films present three-dimensional structure, porous networks and low toxicity. Therefore, the developed CMC/PVA/CA film can be well-suited for biomedical application.
     
    Film karboksimetil Selulosa (KMS)/polivinil alkohol (PVA) berhasil dipreparasi dengan metode pengikatan silang kimia. Asam sitrat (CA) digunakan sebagai agen pengikat silang untuk memperbaiki karakteristik film. Pembentukan film KMS/PVA/CA dikonfirmasi menggunakan difraksi sinar-X, spektroskopi FT-IR dan scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Selain itu, film diuji untuk aktivitas antibakteri. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa interaksi ikatan hidrogen antara KMS / PVA dan CA dapat dibentuk. Film ini menunjukkan efek antibakteri yang sangat baik terhadap E. Coli dan S. Aureus. Penambahan CA dapat secara efisien meningkatkan penyerapan air dari film. Selain itu, film ini menyajikan struktur tiga dimensi, jaringan berpori dan toksisitas rendah. Oleh karena itu, film KMS/PVA/CA yang dikembangkan dapat sangat cocok untuk aplikasi biomedis.
