    Abstract
    Background Anxiety in patients undergoing caesarean section is an important issue that affects the childbirth experience and post-operative recovery. Anxiety can impact post-operative satisfaction, pain experience, and hospital length of stay. Anxiety can be influenced by several factors, such as age, level of education, and history of previous caesarean section. Objective To describe the level of preoperative anxiety in caesarean section at the RSUD dr. Hadrianus Sinaga, Samosir Regency. Method This study uses a descriptive research method with a cross-sectional design, and data is collected through a questionnaire aimed at describing the level of anxiety in preoperative caesarean section patient at RSUD dr. Hadrianus Sinaga, Samosir Regency. The sampling technique used in this study is non-probability sampling, specifically quota sampling. Result Out of 151 respondents, 71 respondents experienced severe anxiety, accounting for 47%. The majority of respondents were in the age group of 20–35 years (79.5%), had a high school education as their highest level of education (47%), and had no previous history of C-section (44.4%). Conclusion Most preoperative C-section patients at Dr. Hadrianus Sinaga Hospital experienced severe anxiety. The majority of patients were aged 20–35 years. Most had a high school education, and the majority had no prior history of C-section.
