dc.description.abstract | River pollution occurs as a result of the entry of waste from various human
activities without being supported by the capacity of the river itself. Increasing
human activities, changes in land use and the increasingly diverse lifestyles of
urban communities that produce domestic waste make the burden of pollution in
rivers greater over time. The decline in water quality occurs as a result of
uncontrolled waste disposal from development activities along the river so that it is
not in accordance with the carrying capacity of the river. The river will receive
input of materials or energy from areas along the river flow or all human activities
related to waste production and then flow through river bodies. This research was
conducted in June 2024. The research method used was purposive sampling. The
overall research results are where the water quality status of the Belawan River
spatially, North Sumatra Province based on the IP method in the lightly polluted
category NSF-WQI in medium (moderate) - good status and based on the CCME
method in the moderately polluted category - good with a comparison to the river
water quality standards. | en_US |
