Human resources are a key factor in achieving a company's goals effectively
and efficiently, making them an essential component for organizational success,
regardless of whether the organization is large or small. Even companies equipped
with modern, high-tech equipment require a robust workforce. At PT POS
Pematangsiantar, the researcher identified a decline in employee performance,
both in terms of work quality and quantity. It was found that the gap between
leadership and subordinates, along with insufficient fulfillment of employees’ self actualization needs, contributed to this issue.
The objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between the
variables Authentic Leadership and Self-Actualization and their impact on
Employee Performance. Additionally, the study aims to evaluate the influence of
these two variables on the phenomenon of declining employee performance at PT
POS Pematangsiantar.
The research employed a quantitative method with an associative approach.
Data was collected through the distribution of questionnaires to 42 employees using
a total sampling technique, supplemented by secondary data from various books
and previous studies. The data was analyzed using instrument tests, classical
assumption tests, multiple linear regression, and hypothesis testing to interpret the
findings.
The results showed that Authentic Leadership and Self-Actualization have
a significant impact on Employee Performance, with correlation and influence
rates of 89.1% and 78.3%, respectively. The study concluded that the lack of
leadership roles, inadequate relationships between leaders and subordinates, and
insufficient fulfillment of employees' self-actualization needs were the primary
causes of the decline in employee performance at PT POS Pematangsiantar
