The aim of this research is to study the effectiveness and factors that influence the success of Foot and Mouth Diasease vaccination (FMD) in North Sumatera Province. The research was carried out at the Disease Investigation Centre (DIC), North Sumatera and lasted for 2 months. This research data was analyzed using descriptive chi-square statistical analysis and logistic regression statistics with the help of SPSS (analytical) and descriptive software. The results of calculations using multiple logistic regression showed that the factors that significantly influence the effectiveness of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccination are time of vaccination, maintenance system, disinfection of cages and farms applying biosecurity. Based on the research that has been carried out, the advice that can be given to the government of North Sumatera Province is to pay attention to small-scale breeders. Because many smallholder farmers still lack knowledge, especially in implementing biosecurity.en_US
