dc.description.abstractThis research aims to find out the self-existence of transvestites in the city of Medan. Qualitative method is used in this research because it focuses on describing the social lives of transvestites. The self-existence of transvestite has a fairly broad concept in a process namely the front stage and the back stage which is formed by imagination, emotion, and cognition. The transvestite group is the third category of absolute sexual orientation, with its sexuality influenced by societal pressures and socialization, which are then internalized into typical behaviors as sexual orientation tropically algins with the chosen type of sexual orientation.en_US
