The Role of Organizational Culture in Enhancing Employee Performance in the Transportation Division of the North Sumatra Provincial Transportation Office
Abstract
Background: Organizational culture plays an important role in enhancing employee performance, especially in the government sector where optimal service delivery is crucial. This study investigates the impact of organizational culture on employee performance in the Transportation Division of the North Sumatra Provincial Transportation Office.
Objective: The primary objective of this study is to understand how organizational culture in the transportation sector affects employee performance and to identify key cultural elements that can improve performance.
Method: This study used a quantitative approach, utilizing surveys and performance data analysis. Surveys were conducted with several employees of the Transportation Office to understand their views on the organizational culture in their workplace and how it affected their performance. Additionally, their performance data was analyzed to obtain a more complete picture.
Result: The study found that a strong and positive organizational culture greatly helps improve employee performance. Important aspects of this culture, such as clear communication, recognition for hard work, and support from superiors, play a significant role in motivating employees and creating a productive work environment. Additionally, the alignment between organizational values and employee values can reduce workplace tension and conflict, thereby increasing work efficiency and effectiveness. Organizational culture greatly influences employee performance in the Transportation Division of North Sumatra. To improve overall performance and achieve organizational goals, it is important to build a supportive, transparent culture that aligns with employee values.
Conclusion: These findings indicate that sustainable cultural development and strategic alignment are essential to maintaining high employee performance levels.
