The Influence of Work Life Balance and Job Stress on Turnover Intention at Bank Sumut, Medan City
Abstract
The banking business in Indonesia, particularly in Medan City, has
experienced rapid development in recent decades. However, the banking industry
in this city also faces significant challenges in managing its workforce. Employees
in the Credit Division of Bank Sumut’s Head Office in Medan are experiencing a
phenomenon of turnover intention, some of which ultimately result in resignations.
Researchers have identified the possibility that a lack of work-life balance and jobrelated stress are the causes.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between the
variables of Work-Life Balance and Job Stress with Turnover Intention. This study
also aims to examine the impact of these two variables on the declining
performance phenomenon in the Credit Division of Bank Sumut’s Head Office in
Medan.
This research was conducted using a quantitative method with an
associative approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to
50 employees using a total sampling technique, supported by secondary data such
as various books and previous studies. The data were analyzed using instrument
tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, and hypothesis testing
as tools for data interpretation.
The results of the study show that Work-Life Balance and Job Stress
significantly influence Turnover Intention, with levels of correlation and influence
at 90.8% and 81.6%, respectively. The findings indicate that a lack of work-life
balance and job stress are the causes of the turnover intention phenomenon.
