Body image dissatisfaction (BID) has become a global mental health issue, particularly among university students who are in a critical period of body image formation. This study aims to assess the relationship between several demographic characteristics, smartphone addiction, and psychological distress in relation to BID among female medical students. A total of 120 subjects successfully completed the Smartphone Addiction Scale-Short Version (SAS-SV), the Kessler Psychological Distress-10 (K-10), and the Body Shape Questionnaire-34 (BSQ-34) forms and questionnaires. The study found a BID prevalence of 44.2%. Through multivariate linear regression analysis, significant relationships were found with BMI (r=+0,525, p<0.0001), smartphone addiction (r=+0,195, p<0.0001), and psychological distress (r=+0,363, p=0.004) in relation to BID. Further research with more complex variables and broader scope is still needed.
