The Influence of The Basic Sector, Capital, Labor, and Initial Income on The Convergence of Economic Growth in North Sumatra
Abstract
Convergence is defined as a situation where the poor economy will have higher economic growth than the rich economy. This study aims to determine the evidence of indications of convergence in North Sumatra in 2017-2022 through variables of initial income, labor, capital and basic sectors.
This type of research is quantitative research. The data used is secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics during the research period. The analysis technique used is panel data regression with a convergence approach, the number of observed data is 198. To test the research hypothesis, the t test was used.
The results of this study indicate that partially the initial income has a negative and significant effect on the convergence of economic growth in North Sumatra. Labor has a positive and significant effect on the convergence of economic growth in North Sumatra. Capital has no effect on the convergence of growth in North Sumatra. The base sector has a positive and significant effect on the convergence of economic growth in North Sumatra.
