Objective :
To determine the relationship between D-Dimer and hs-CRP levels with moderate and severe severity in acute ischemic stroke at Adam Malik Hospital Medan
Method :
This research is a prospective analytical observational study with a cross-sectional data collection method to assess the relationship between D-Dimer and hs-CRP levels in moderate and severe acute ischemic stroke patients treated at Adam Malik Hospital Medan. Sampling was taken by means of consecutive sampling where the number of samples was limited to a minimum according to the estimated number of samples and sampling was stopped when the research period had ended. Data were analyzed using the Spearman test and the Mann Whitney difference test.
Result :
From a research sample of 60 people, the majority of subjects 51.7%, were female. The age of most patients in this study was in the range 51 – 60 years with a presentation of 38.3%. Most of the patients were of Batak ethnicity 75% and 36.7% were high school graduates. The most common type of work is housewife as much as 35%. It was found that D-Dimer levels in Acute Ischemic Stroke Patients were above normal (>500 ng/mL) as much as 83.3%. It was found that 96.7% of hs-CRP levels in acute ischemic stroke patients were above normal (> 0.5 mg/dl). There was a significant increase between D-Dimer levels and the severity of acute ischemic stroke based on the NIHSS with a P value < 0.001. There was a significant ncrease between hs-CRP levels and the severity of acute ischemic stroke based on the NIHSS with a P value < 0.001.
Conclusion :
There was a significant increase between D-Dimer levels and the severity of acute ischemic stroke based on the NIHSS with a P value < 0.001. and there was asignificant increase between hs-CRP levels and the severity of acute ischemic stroke based on the NIHSS with a P value < 0.001
