Background: Puberty is a complex biological process between childhood and adulthood. Bisphenol A (BPA) has been shown to cause premature puberty in girls because its estrogenic characteristics that can affect gonadotropin-releasing hormone. In Indonesia, research on BPA and pubertal status has never been carried out. Therefore, this study aims to assess the relationship between BPA and pubertal status in adolescent girls. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional design using a simple random sampling technique. Statistical analysis was carried out to assess the relationship between BPA levels and pubertal status in adolescent girls using the Fisher's Exact test on BPA and tanner stage, the Mann Whitney test on BPA and budding age. Results: Thirty subjects were recruited in this study. BPA was found in 3 (10%) children, all of them showed tanner breast stage 2 and tanner pubic stage 1. All of them who had BPA detected in their urine, experienced budding at the age of 10 years. In this study, no significant relationship was found between BPA and tanner stage and budding age (p > 0.05). Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between BPA and puberty status in adolescent girls. It is hoped that future research get a larger sample size to better describe the relationship between them.en_US
