dc.description.abstractThis study uses figurative language theory, which aims to identify and describe the figurative language contained in four William Blake's Selected Poems. There are 10 types of figure of speech found in four William Blake's Selected Poems, namely metaphor, personification, hyperbole, simile, irony, paradox, metonymy, alliteration, litotes, and synecdoche. Litotes is the most dominant type of figurative language that appears in this poems. Through this research, it is hoped that the reader can understand the use of figure of speech and its types in poems so that the message the author wants to convey to the readers of the poems. The result of this study will be able to give contribution to the readers who are interested in learning and interpreting those poems.en_US
