Profil Korban Meninggal pada Kasus Kecelakaan Lalu Lintas di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Dr. Pirngadi Kota Medan pada Tahun 2021 Sampai dengan 2023

Abstract

Background Traffic accident injuries are a major global public health problem but are neglected and require joint efforts for effective and sustainable prevention. The road transportation system is one of the most complex and dangerous systems humans deal with daily. Method This study aims to determine the profile of victims who died in traffic accident cases at the Dr. Pirngadi Regional General Hospital Medan City in 2021-2023. The descriptive study with a cross-sectional retrospective design was performed using secondary data from the Visum et Repertum in a forensic installation at RSUD Dr. Pirngadi, Medan City from 2021 to 2023. The research samples were all VeR corpses of traffic accident cases with complete data including age, gender, occupation, type of injury, type of trauma, and location of injury. Results The research results showed that of the 84 research samples, the majority were aged between 18-65 years 68 people (81%); 66 people (78.6%) were male; 58 people (69%) were working; Locations of injuries to the head, upper extremities, lower extremities as many as 7 cases (8.4%) ; trauma cases include of abrasions, bruises, lacerations and broken bones was 32 people (38.1%), and blunt trauma was 84 people (100%).
