dc.description.abstract | Campus II University of North Sumatera Located in Bekala is a grant granting land rights from the Government through PTPN II covering an area of 300 ha. This research aims to identify types of plants in the Araceae family and identify the level of diversity of plant species in the Araceae family around Campus II University of North Sumatra Located in Bekala. Vegetation observations were carried out at station 1 River I, station 2 River II, station 3 Mainland I and station 4 Mainland II carried out in April 2024. The research method used in this research was an exploratory method with a purposive sampling technique, namely exploring the forest area by traversing along the predetermined routes and collect samples from every Araceae found. The results of the research showed that the number of Araceae family plants found were Amorphophallus paeoniifolius, Amorphophallus praini, Alocasia odora, Caladium bicolor, Colocasia esculenta, Colocasia gigantea, Homalomena occulta, Lasia spinosa, Syngonium podophyllum, Typonium blumei and Xanthosoma undipes. The diversity index (H') of Araceae plants at station 1 of River I was 0.26, station 2 of River II was 0.16, station 3 Mainland I was 0.21 and station 4 Mainland II was 0.30. This shows that the number of species among the total number of existing species falls into the low diversity category. | en_US |
