dc.description.abstractDiabetes Mellitus (DM) often attacks people who consume food containing fat. In Indonesia, it ranks sixth with the largest amount of diabetes mellitus. Obesity is the factor which can cause the increase in blood sugar content and can be one of the indicators of diabetes. The research uses descriptive quantitative correlation method with cross-sectional design. The purpose of the research is to find out the correlation between obesity and the incidence of diabetes mellitus in the working area of Klambir V Kebun Supporting Public Health Center. The samples are 81 patients who have visited Supporting Public Health Center, taken by using non- probability sampling with simple random sampling technique. The data are analyzed by using chi-square test at p-value=0.034 (<0.05) which indicates that there is the correlation between obesity and the incidence of diabetes mellitus. It is recommended that the nursing care community increase counseling for the people in order to prevent them from obesity by preventing diabetes mellitus.en_US
