Diabetes is a chronic disease characterized by high blood sugar levels. Prolonged high blood sugar levels in diabetes patients will gradually disrupt blood circulation to the periphery and the entire body. Therefore, self-management is essential to prevent complications. Implementing self-management requires individual motivation. This study aims to examine the relationship between self-motivation and self-management in high blood sugar patients in Klambir V Kampung Village. This is a correlational study with a cross-sectional approach involving 41 diabetes patients in Klambir V Kampung Village as samples, using total sampling techniques. Univariate analysis results show that 61% of respondents have high self-motivation, and 63.4% have high self-management. Bivariate analysis using Pearson's correlation revealed an r value of 0.621, with a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.05), indicating a significant relationship between self-motivation and self-management in high blood sugar patients in Klambir V Kampung Village. This study recommends designing interventions such as motivational counseling and health education to increase self-motivation, thereby improving blood sugar management.
