Effective inpatient room management is closely linked to the application of good nursing management. The function of direction is one of the key indicators supporting the successful management of the inpatient room itself. Excellent nursing care performance also contributes to the improvement of the hospital's overall quality, especially in the inpatient room. This study aims to determine the significant relationship between inpatient room management in achieving the direction function of nurses and the performance of nursing care by implementing nurses in government hospitals. This research is quantitative with a correlational design. The study was conducted at RSUP H Adam Malik with a population comprising implementing nurses working in the inpatient room. The sample of implementing nurses in the government hospital was 139, selected using simple random sampling. The results showed that the achievement of the direction function was 91.6% and the nursing care performance was 100% The analysis using the Spearman Rho test yielded an r value of 0.307 with a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.005), indicating a significant relationship. Recommendations from this study suggest conducting in-depth qualitative research to explore the direction function in the context of motivation, communication, and delegation to provide more comprehensive and detailed insights into the function of direction.en_US
