Background: Schizophrenia is a chronic and complex neuropsychiatric diso rder with a significant impact on the quality of life of patients and their families. genetic and non genetic factors such as environmental and psychological factors that change the chemical structure of the brain where, one of the genetic factors is Cytok ines which play a complex role in schizophrenia which is related to neuropathological processes in the CNS and Interleukin 3 is one of the cytokines associated with symptoms Negative for schizophrenia. Methods: Sampling used a non probability sampling, wi th consecutive sampling type. It is conducted on 200 subjects (100 people with schizophrenia and 100 healthy Batak tribe controls). The examination of the IL 3 RA rs6603272 G/T polymorphism used the PCR method. Results: No significant differences were fou nd between alleles and genotypes in people with schizophrenia and healthy Batak tribe controls in this study. Conclusion: No association was found between IL3 RA rs6603272 G/T polymorphism and Negative Sym p tom. No Association between Polymorphism and Nega tive Symptom in Bataknese Schizophrenia patient.en_US
