dc.description.abstract | A mechanical palm oil processing tool into CPO or digester is a tool used to chop palm fruit pulp so that oil can be extracted from the meat. This research aims to determine the effect of rotational speed on the performance of palm oil processing equipment to obtain optimum performance of the equipment in terms of technical aspects (effective capacity of the equipment, fuel consumption, yield and losses) and economic aspects (Net Present Value, break even point and internal rate of return). The method used in this research is the Non Factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method with one factor, namely variations in rotational speed through variations in 2,4 inch (225 rpm), 3 inch (180 rpm) and 4 inch (135 rpm) pulleys. The results of this research show that the largest effective capacity of the tool is P1, 145,48 kg/hour. The largest fuel consumption was in treatment P1 at 2,94 liters/hour and the lowest was in P3, reaches 1,7 liters/hour. The highest yield was in treatment P3 at 20,19% and the lowest was at P1, reaches 14,75%. The highest oil losses were in treatment P1 at 18,35% and the lowest were at P3, reaches 12,91%. In the economic analysis, the break even point (BEP) was found to be 11.966,05 kg/year. The Net Present Value (NPV) with an interest rate of 6% is Rp. 15.483.071,45/year and the NPV of 20% is −Rp. 1.137.476,67/year. The internal rate of return (IRR) reaches 21,11%. | en_US |
