    Abstract
Background: Efficient and smooth operation of the operating room helps control the total cost of the procedure and standardizes the time of use of the operating room. Delays in starting and completing a procedure result in increased patient duration in the operating room as well as an extension of the overall schedule list duration and also the postponement of other cases to the next day.3 Anesthesia Ready Time assessment at H. Adam Malik General Hospital, Medan has never been done, therefore researchers are interested in analyzing Anesthesia Ready Time at H. Adam Malik General Hospital, Medan. Method: This study uses a descriptive observational method with a cross-sectional approach to determine and analyze ART time and is carried out in the IGD operating room and IBP operating room of H. Adam Malik General Hospital, Medan. Where each operation will be measured ART time both in the IGD operating room and the IBP operating room. The subject selection technique is the consecutive sampling method where 1317 research subjects were collected. Bivariate analysis for numeric variables uses the One Way Anovat test if the data is normally distributed, or the Kruskal Walis test if the data is not normally distributed. The results of the analysis are said to be significant if p <0.05, with a confidence level of 95%. Results: There were significant differences in ART based on PS-ASA, surgical procedures, types of anesthesia, and emergency or elective surgery. There was still prolongation of ART in some operations and there were several factors related to ART, especially the problem of incomplete and poor function of tools and materials for induction. Conclusion: Anesthesia Ready Time is still found to be prolonged in the operating room of H. Adam Malik General Hospital Medan.
