Diabetes is a chronic condition in which the body is unable to produce insulin properly. Various problems experienced by people with diabetes can affect their quality of life. Self-compassion, an individual ability that involves facing pain and suffering by showing care for oneself, has been widely associated with improving various health conditions for chronic sufferers, including diabetes. This study aimed to determine whether there was a positive relationship between self-compassion and the four domains of quality of life. The study included 90 diabetes patients at Regional Public Hospital (RSUD) Rantauprapat, Labuhanbatu using quantitative research with pearson correlation analysis technique. The results of this study showed that self-compassion had a positive relationship with the four domains of quality of life, with correlation coefficients (r) of .551 for physical health, .887 for psychological, .635 for social relationships, and .849 for the environment, with a significance (sig.) value in each domain of 0.00 (p < 0.05). Therefore, it indicated that the higher a person's self-compassion, the better their quality of life would be.en_US
