Perbandingan Berat Badan, Lingkar Pinggang dan Kadar Gula Darah Sewaktu antara Pasien yang Mendapat Obat Hipoglikemia Oral (OHO) dengan Insulin pada Pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2

Abstract

Introduction. T2DM occurs due to elevated blood sugar caused by a reduction in insulin secretion by the pancreas gland. Several treatments can be given such as Oral Hypoglycemic Agent (OHA) and insulin. Objective. To determine the comparison of Body Weight (BW), Waist Circumference (WC) and Random Blood Sugar (RBS) between OHA and insulin users. Method. This study is descriptive analytic with a cross-sectional approach with consecutive sampling and uses primary data that fits the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results. OHA users were dominated by the weight range 46 - 55 and 56 - 65 kg by 33.3%, abnormal WC in women (65.2%) and men (85%) and all patients had abnormal RBS (100%). Whereas in insulin users, the weight range of 66 - 75 kg was dominated (30.2%), WC was abnormal in men (53.8%) and women (81.5%), and RBS was abnormal (81.1%). In the independent t-test results, there was no comparison of BW and WC between OHA and insulin users (p=0.135) and (p=0.546). In the results of the mann whitney test, the comparison of RBS between OHA and insulin users was significantly different (p=0.001). Conclusion. There were significant differences.
