Isolation and Identification of Flavonoida Compounds from Leaf of Turi Merah (Sesbania Grandiflora (L.) Poir)
Abstract
Turi merah (Sesbania grandiflora (L.) Poir) is a fern plant that is widely used by the general public for natural treatment, such as nausea, diarrhea, strep throat and others. The isolation and identification of flavonoid compounds from red turi leaves has been carried out through the stages of maceration extraction with methanol solvents. The methanol concentrate extract is then extracted with ethyl acetate. Concentrated ethyl acetate extract is extracted partition with n-hexane. The results of the partition were then separated by thin-layer chromatography, then separated by column chromatography using silica gel as the stationary phase and n-hexane: ethyl acetate with a ratio of 90:10; 80:20; 70:30; 60:40; 50:50; 40:60; 30:70; 20:80; 10:90 (V/V) as the phase of motion. The pure compound obtained was in the form of a greenish-white amorphous solid with a mass of 6.7 mg and a price of Rf = 0.72 and using chloroform eluene: ethyl acetate 90:10 (v/v). Based on the results of UV-Visibel spectrum analysis with methanol solvents, it was shown that there were two absorption bands with a wavelength (λmax) of 315 nm in band I and 280 nm in band II. The results of FT-IR spectrum analysis showed the presence of OH, C-H sp3, C=O, C=C, and C-O-C groups. The results of the 1H-NMR spectrum analysis showed the presence of protons H-8, H-6, H-3, H-2', H-3', H-4', H-5', H-6'. Based on the analysis data, the isolated compounds are flavonoid compounds of the flavone group.
