Gambaran Gejala Gangguan Pernafasan pada Pekerja Mebel Kayu di Desa Muara Delang Kecamatan Tabir Selatan Kabupaten Merangin Tahun 2018

Abstract

Symptoms of respiratory problems are health complaints experienced by respondents in the form of cough, phlegm cough, bloody cough, shortness of breath, and chest pain. This research was conducted descriptively with the aim to find out the description of respiratory symptoms in wood furniture workers in Muara Delang Village, Tabir Selatan District, Merangin Regency in 2018. Wood furniture business with a population of 30 people and sample is the entire population. Data collection is done by interviewing using a questionnaire. The results of the research conducted showed that respondents who experienced symptoms of cough respiratory disorders as many as 16 people (53.3%), cough with phlegm as many as 9 people (30%), shortness of breath as much as 8 people (26.7%), and breath sounds / wheezing as many as 3 people (10%). Based on this research, it is recommended that wood furniture workers wear respiratory personal protective equipment at work such as masks to protect themselves from exposure to dust and reduce smoking habits so as to reduce the risk of symptoms of respiratory problems that will cause respiratory diseases in workers.
