dc.description.abstractIntroduction. The level of knowledge and adherence to antibiotics is very important in preventing antibiotic resistance. The high rate of antibiotic resistance poses a threat to the success of treatment, especially for infectious diseases caused by bacteria. Objective. Knowing the level of knowledge and compliance of outpatients at Prof. Hospital. Dr. Chairuddin P. Lubis USU in the use of antibiotics. Method. This research used a cross sectional design with a qualitative descriptive approach and consecutive sampling method for sample selection. Then analyzed and presented in the form of tables and diagrams. Results. Most patients have insufficient knowledge with very good compliance regarding antibiotics with a percentage of 56,56%. Conclusion. The level of knowledge and compliance of outpatients at North University Hospital is in the categories of not knowing and very complying.en_US
