    Abstract
Anemia is when the Hemoglobin (Hb) level in the blood is abnormal. An initial survey of three female adolescents who had experienced anemia had symptoms of weakness, lethargy and fatigue, which occurred when they did not consume enough iron-rich foods, irregular eating and abnormal sleep. Generally, female adolescents living in boarding houses are students with eating, nutritional intake and activities managed by themselves. This study aims to analyze anemia in female adolescents who are anemic and live in boarding houses at Medan Baru Sub District, Medan City. The type of research used is qualitative research. Informants as many as 7 people are using Purposive Sampling technique with data collection methods is tracing female adolescents from boarding houses, Using Easytouch GCHB check-up tool and doing In-depth Interviews. The results of the study showed that the causes of anemia in female adolescent living in boarding houses are a dietary habit of 1-2 days a day (eating vegetables and fruits 2-3 times a week), rest time of less than 8 hours because of playing social media and hanging out with friends, menstrual conditions (the frequency of changing pads 5-6 times a day). The impact of anemia are physical impacts (dizziness, getting tired easily, feeling weak, pale on the face and lips), psychological impacts (anger, mood swings, being easily scared) and social impacts (the frequency of socializing with others decreases). Mitigation of anemia include consuming vegetables (spinach, broccoli, potatoes, carrots, kale, bean sprouts, cabbage), fruits (bananas, apples, papaya, mangoes) and vitamins (blood-boosting tablets, vitamin A). It is important for female adolescents living in boarding houses to improve their eating patterns by eating 3 times a day, consuming sources of iron, getting 8 hours of rest, reducing playing on social media or hanging out for long time, and being able to understand mitigation of anemia.
