Introduction. Scabies is a disease of the skin caused by mites or Sarcoptes scabiei. Scabies cause itching resulting from mite activity. Purpose. To determine the relationship between the level of scabies knowledge and behavior and risk factors of scabies in dormitory students of the University of North Sumatra. Method. This study uses a cross sectional design, with a simple random sampling technique for 174 students in the dormitory of the University of North Sumatra. Data was obtained from primary data using questionnaires that were distributed directly to respondents. Result. Students in the University of North Sumatra dormitory have more knowledge about scabies. Students with sufficient knowledge about scabies have more good preventive behaviors (48.9%), and have low risk factors (28.2%). Based on statistical analysis using the Chi-squared test, there was no significant relationship between the level of knowledge and preventive behavior (p = 0.172) and scabies risk factors (p = 0.095). Conclusion. There is no relationship between the level of knowledge of scabies and preventive behavior and risk factors in students in the dormitory of the University of North Sumatra.
