dc.description.abstract | (FeCu)-(AlCNT) alloy made by powder metallurgy is a combined alloy in order to obtain good mechanical properties and can be further improved mechanical properties by heat treatment process. Hardening is a heat treatment process that aims to improve the mechanical properties of a material by heating and cooling in certain time intervals and cooling media. This study analyzes the effect of heat treatment temperature on (FeCu)-(AlCNT) alloy. Variations used are non heat treatment, 800°C, 850°C and 900°C with a holding time of 30 minutes and then cooled quickly using water cooling media. The test results showed that the highest density was obtained at 900°C heat treatment of 6.14 g/cm3, while the lowest density was obtained from the alloy without heat treatment process with a value of 5.42 g/cm3. The highest Vickers hardness obtained in the heat treatment with a temperature of 900°C with a value of 160.5 VHN, while the lowest Vickers hardness obtained from the alloy without heat treatment with a value of 91.8 VHN. Compressive testing get the highest yield stress value of 357.35 Mpa on heat treatment with a temperature of 900°C, while without heat treatment get the lowest yield stress value of 242.71 Mpa. The lowest wear rate obtained in the heat treatment with a temperature of 900°C amounted to 1.998 x 10-7 mm3/Nmm, while the highest wear rate obtained in the alloy without heat treatment amounted to 4.528 x 10-7 mm3/Nmm. The heat treatment process can improve the microstructure of the alloy which makes the grain boundaries look smoother which supports the reduction and size reduction of porosity in the (FeCu)-(AlCNT) alloy. | en_US |
