This research aims to look at the mental health picture of students living in dormitories. Mental health is the state of well-being of an individual who realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community. This research uses descriptive quantitative methods which aim to look at the mental health picture of boarding school students. The sample used in this research was 135 teenagers aged 14-17 years. This research uses a survey method with the SDQ (Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire) instrument or measuring tool developed by Goodman (1997). The data in this study was processed using the Microsoft Excel computer program and then processed into percentages and using the SPSS version 22 for Windows program. The results of this research show that the majority of SMA X dormitory students are in good mental health or in the normal category, supported by factors such as family communication, a supportive dormitory environment, and useful activities. This research confirms the importance of family and residential-based interventions to support adolescent mental health
