dc.description.abstractThis research is a descriptive and case study research that aims to determine the description of factors that influence patriotism in poor communities in Medan City with low patriotism. This study involved 100 poor people as research participants and 1 person for the subject in the interview. The sampling technique used a non-probability technique with the acccidental sampling method and used an extreme sample for interview subjects. The data obtained in this study were processed by descriptive analysis and thematic analysis. The measuring instrument is a patriotism scale made based on the theory proposed by Blank & Schimdt (2003). The results showed that poor people in Medan City have patriotism that tends to be high overall. This result shows that patriotism in the poor people of Medan City is in a high category. The results further show that the patriotism of the subject is influenced by 2, namely the age influence factor and the political orientation factor, as well as other factors that influence the findings, namely economic factors.en_US
