Hubungan Tingkat Pendidikan, Pengetahuan, Perilaku dan Sikap Ibu terhadap Kejadian Stunting pada Balita di Kecamatan Sei Tualang Raso

Abstract

Background. Stunting is a common nutritional problem worldwide with 149 million occurrences. Various risk factors influence such as genetics, nutritional intake, socioeconomics and the level of parental knowledge. Objective. To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge, behavior and attitudes of mothers towards the incidence of stunting in sei tualang raso sub-district. Methods. This study is a quantitative analytic study using a cross sectional approach. The study population was mothers who had toddlers in Sei Tualang Raso District, Tanjung Balai City with a sample of 85 people. The sampling technique in this study used consecutive sampling method. The data collection method is a questionnaire method using data collection tools in the form of questionnaires and measuring scales, microtoise, body length boards and WHO curves, data analysis using chi square and fisher's exact test. Results. The results showed that out of 85 children, it was known that the female sex was 32 toddlers, the male sex was 53 children, 71 children experienced stunting, and 14 children experienced normal. Bivariate analysis of knowledge level with p value = 0.044; mother's behavior level with p value = 0.034; mother's attitude with p value = 0.016; mother's education level with p value = 0.129. Conclusion. there is a relationship between the level of knowledge, behavior and attitude but there is no relationship between the level of education and the incidence of stunting.
