Faktor-Faktor yang Memengaruhi Kejadian Nyeri Kepala Akibat Penggunaan Gadget pada Siswa SMA Negeri 4 Medan

Abstract

Introduction. Headache is a common complaint among adolescents, often related to intensive gadget use. According to the International Headache Society, primary headaches include tension-type headache (TTH), migraine, and cluster headache. Excessive gadget use is a major risk factor. Objective. This study aims to determine the factors influencing the occurrence of headaches due to gadget use among students of SMAN 4 Medan. Method. This research was conducted with an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. Results and Discussion. Of the 55 respondents, intensive gadget use is associated with a variation in headache types, with TTH being the most frequent, followed by migraine and cluster headache. Chi-square analysis shows a significant relationship between gadget use intensity and headache type (P < 0.05). Conclusion. There is a significant relationship between gadget use patterns and the occurrence of headaches among SMAN 4 Medan students, highlighting the importance of awareness regarding healthy gadget use.
