dc.description.abstractIntroduction: Cancer is a disease of abnormal and uncontrolled cell growth, one of these is cervical cancer which can be detected earlier through Pap smear. This examination is important for women to decrease the risk of cervical cancer through the detection of pre-malignant or malignant cell changes in the cervix. Objective: This study aims to determine the level of knowledge and behavior of productive age female teachers towards Pap smear examination at Yayasan Perguruan Laksamana Martadinata. Methods: This study used a descriptive method with simple random sampling technique, which involved 53 female teachers of productive age as respondents. Data were collected through a questionnaire that consisted of questions about the level of knowledge related to the procedure, benefits, and urgency of pap smear examination, and behavior that included comfort and motivation to undergo this examination. This study was conducted in July 2024. Results: Of the 53 respondents, 9 people (17%) showed a good knowledge, and 44 people (83%) had a moderate knowledge about Pap smear. Behaviour towards Pap smear screening were also very positive, with 35 respondents (66%) having a very positive behavior, while 18 respondents (34%) showed a positive behavior. Conclusion: Female teachers at Yayasan Perguruan Laksamana Martadinata have sufficient knowledge and very positive behaviour towards pap smear examination as an early detection measure of cervical cancer, although further education is still needed.en_US
