Introduction: Brain tumors are diseases of the central nervous system that can be benign or malignant, affecting quality of life and leading to death, with a globally increasing prevalence. Objective: To identify the characteristics, operative management, and outcomes of brain tumor patients at RSUP Haji Adam Malik in 2022-2023. Methods: This study is a quantitative descriptive research with a cross-sectional approach, involving 100 inpatients with brain tumors at RSUP Haji Adam Malik using consecutive sampling. Data were obtained from medical records. Results and Discussion: The majority of patients were late adults and elderly (22%) and male (56%), with primary symptoms including headache, neurological deficits such as hemiparesis, and impaired consciousness. Most tumors originated from intra-axial regions (82%) with a supratentorial location (79%). Primary brain tumors were more dominant, with astrocytomas (26,9%) being the most frequently encountered type. The severity of primary brain tumors was mostly grade IV (31.3%). The most common operative approach was craniotomy (32%), often combined with radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The survival outcome for primary brain tumor patients was highest in grade I (93.8%) and grade II (78.9%), while mortality was predominant in grade IV patients (71.4%). For secondary brain tumors, survival was most common in breast cancer (58.3%), whereas mortality was dominant in lung cancer (73.4%). Conclusion: Age, location, tumor type, and appropriate operative management play a crucial role in patient prognosis.en_US
