dc.description.abstractBackground : Cognitive is an individual's belief in a concept that comes from the thought process, where there are at least 3 main factors that can influence cognitive functioning, namely individual nutrients, genetics and the environment, Thus, Objective : to test the correlation between the intake of Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) on the cognitive function of adolescent female soccer players in North Sumatra in 2024. Method : The research design used was observational analytics involving a cross-section design. The total sample used was 79 people. Participants filled out using the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MOCA) questionnaire and also the Food Recall sheet. Consecutive sampling has been used to collect data. SPSS 29.0 software and also NutriSurvey are used to process and analyze data with the Spearman-rho test. Results : A significance value of P value <0.001 was obtained with a correlation coefficient value of r = 0.676, which means that there is a strong positive correlation between EPA and DHA intake and the cognitive function of adolescent female soccer players in North Sumatra in 2024. Conclusion: These findings provide the basis for a study that aims to determine the correlation of EPA and DHA on cognitive function. Potential basic mechanisms and directions for future research.en_US
