    Abstract
Background: Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is the most significant cause of disability and death in the world. This injury triggers an inflammatory response through the activation of glial cells and leucocytes that secrete proinflammatory cytokines, accelerating the process of glial cells and leucocytes that secrete proinflammatory cytokines, accelerating the process of neuroinflammation. Objectives: This study aims to consider the relationship between leucocyte count and NLR with clinical outcomes of TBI patients at Adam Malik Hospital. Methods: This analytical study used a retrospective cohort design. Sampling from medical record data on patients with TBI cases recorded at Adam Malik Hospital from January—December 2023. Blood laboratory tests and clinical outcome assessment were performed. Statistical analysis using the chi-square test was used to see the relationship between leucocyte count and NLR as predictors of clinical outcomes in this study. ROC curve analysis was used to determine the cut-off value of NLR. Results: Analysis using chi-square test showed a significant relationship between leucocyte count and outcome of TBI patients (p=0.003). In addition, there is a significant relationship between NLR and TBI patient outcomes (p<0.001), with a cut-off value of NLR 9.2% which has a sensitivity and specificity of 83.3% and 82,5%. Conclusion: This study concluded that there is a significant relationship between leucocyte count and NLR levels with clinical outcomes of TBI patients.
