Keanekaragaman Jenis Ikan di Hilir Sungai Palu Hantu Kecamatan Medan Marelan Kota Medan Provinsi Sumatera Utara
Fish Species Diversity in the DownStrem Palu Hantu River, Medan Marelan District, Medan City, North Sumatra Province
Abstract
This study of Fish Species Diversity in the DownStrem Palu Hantu River, Medan
Marelan District, Medan City, North Sumatra Province aims to study the diversity
of fish species and their relationship with physicochemical parameters in the Palu
Hantu River, Medan Marelan District, Medan City, North Sumatra Province.
Sampling was carried out at three different stations. The results of the study found
10 fish species consisting of 4 orders, 9 families, and 9 genera. The highest
diversity index was found at station III (0.233), followed by station II (0.183), and
the lowest at station I (0.074). The highest fish abundance was found at station III
(46.5 ind/ha) and the lowest at station I (8.5 ind/ha). Principal Component
Analysis (PCA) showed that brightness, DO, and pH had a strong positive
correlation with fish diversity, while temperature, current speed, and salinity were
negatively correlated. Environmental factors such as industrial activities, habitat
conditions, and water quality play an important role in determining fish diversity
and abundance at the study site. The results of this study provide important
information about the condition of the Palu Hantu River ecosystem and can be
used as a basis for the management and conservation of fishery resources in the
area.
