Rancang Bangun Mesin Tribometer Pin on Disc untuk Kebutuhan Uji Keausan pada Paduan Logam
Design of a Tribometer Pin on Disc Machine for Wear Test on Metal Alloys
Abstract
The level of wear is one of the aspects that affects the selection of mechanical component materials so as not to experience wear and material damage. Tribometer is a tool used to measure wear and predict wear. Based on the previous pin on disc tribometer design, there are several problems, namely the absence of a lubrication system and the test specimen design system still uses a lot of powder material for making test specimens. In this case, the development of the tribometer pin on disc design is carried out by adding a lubrication system and changing the function of the test specimen, namely by replacing the pin as a test specimen while the disc as a test specimen so that the use of powder can be reduced and more efficient. This study uses materials and tools, namely aluminum pins with a diameter of 10 x 10 mm and a tribometer pin on disc machine with reference to ASTM G-99 standards. Testing was carried out with a time of 15 minutes with a load of 1 kg at a speed of 600 Rpm. Based on the results of research and testing obtained volume loss of 11 mm3 and wear rate of 31 x 107 mm3 / N.mm. By looking at the results of research and testing, it can be concluded that the design of the tribometer pin on disc machine has been successful and the performance of the machine runs by meeting ASTM G-99 standards.
