Uji Efektivitas Ekstrak Daun Sirsak (Annona Muricata) dan Bunga Lawang (Illicium Verum) terhadap Mortalitas Kutu Kepala (Pediculus Humanus Capitis)

Abstract

Background. The easy transmission of Pediculus humanus capitis, increasing resistance to conventional pediculicides, and the side effects that are causing health problems, especially in children cases. Therefore, natural ingredients are needed as an alternative to pediculicides. Annona muricata leaves contain secondary metabolites such as acetogenin while Illicium verum contain essential oil capable of causing the death of Pediculus humanus capitis. Aim. To determine the effectiveness of a combined Annona muricata leaf extract and Illicium verum extract on the mortality of Pediculus humanus capitis. Methods. This study used a proper experimental design with a posttest-only control group design for Pediculus humanus capitis. This study consisted of a positive control group using 1% permethrin (K+), a negative control group using aquadest (K-), and three treatment groups using a combination of Annona muricata leaf extract and Illicium verum extract in a ratio of 30:70 (P1), 50:50 (P2), and 70:30 (P3). This study was carried out three times to replicate the mortality observation in Pediculus humanus capitis. Results. The treatment group had a mortality percentage from the highest to the lowest at 180 minutes, P1 and P2 (66.67%) and P3 (56.67%). The results of one-way ANOVA test showed that p<0.05. Conclusion. A combination of Annona muricata leaf extract and Illicium verum extract is effective in causing Pediculus humanus capitis mortality.
