Introduction. Lung cancer is one of the leading causes of death in the world,
including in Indonesia, with high cases and deaths every year. The survival rate of
lung cancer patients is generally low, especially if diagnosed at an advanced stage,
despite advances in treatment methods. Objective. This study aims to determine the
one-year survival rate of lung cancer patients at Haji Adam Malik General Hospital
Medan, as well as factors that affect survival rates in these patients. Methods. The
study was conducted by collecting data on patients who were diagnosed and received
treatment at Haji Adam Malik General Hospital Medan in July 2022 through medical
record data and follow-up regarding patient outcomes through communication
media. Survival analysis was assessed using the Kaplan-Meier method, and the Logrank
test was used to see if there were significant differences between groups in the
variables. Results. The total sample size was 39 people, there were 17 people who
experienced an event (died) and 22 people experienced censorship, resulting in a
one-year survival rate of 56.4%. Conclusion. There was no difference in all groups
in the study variables (p-value > a).
