Faktor-Faktor yang Berhubungan dengan Kekambuhan Kanker Kolorektal Tahun 2020-2023

Abstract

Background. Colorectal cancer is a critical health concern that invades the internal structures of the colon and rectum. Referring to GLOBOCAN, colorectal cancer ranked third in highest cancer incidence both globally and in Indonesia. Recurrence is a critical factor driving the annual increase in colorectal cancer mortality rates. Several factors such as tumor location, differentiation, therapy, and may influence the recurrence of colorectal cancer. Objective. Identifying factors associated with colorectal cancer recurrence at RS Adam Malik and RS Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P Lubis. Method. This research is an observational analytical study utilizing a cross sectional approach. Data was systematically gathered from medical records of RS Adam Malik and RS Prof. Dr. Chairuddin P Lubis involving n = 60. Hypothesis testing was performed using the chi-square test, in instances where the data did not met the criteria, fisher’s exact test was applied. Results. The univariate analysis demonstrated that recurrence predominantly occurred within <2 years. The results of bivariate analysis of age, gender, tumor location, cancer type, cancer grading, and therapy did not show significant results. Based on the results of the Fisher's exact test, confirmed that cancer staging yielded significant findings (p-value=0,001). Conclusion. The results of hypothesis testing using Fisher's exact test clearly indicate that the stage of cancer is associated with the recurrence of colorectal cancer.
