Patients undergoing chemotherapy require support. Family support is very valuable and offers significant benefits to improve calmness, patient acceptance, and reduce anxiety during chemotherapy. One of ways to alleviate anxiety in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy is through family support. The research aims to analyze the correlation between family support and anxiety in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Descriptive correlation design is used in this research with cross sectional method. The research population is made up of all breast cancer patients who underwent chemotherapy in June 2024. totalling 318 people. The research samples are determined using the Slovin formula with a 0.1 error rate, resulting in a total of 76 respondents. The research uses accidental sampling technique. The research results indicate that 44.7% of respondents have good family support while 47.4% of respondents experience mild anxiety. Data obtained are analyzed using the Spearman's rank, obtaining statistical test results with a p-value of 0.001 (p-value < 0.05). It concludes that there is a significant correlation between family support and anxiety in breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy at Murni Teguh Hospital, Medan. It is advised that nursing services offer health education to families to support breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.
