Abstract
Adolescence is a group of teenagers that is highly vulnerable to mental health problems. By conducting early detection of their mental health, they are able to know and prevent the incidence of mental disorders at an early stage. Mental health education is one of the efforts to know how to do early detection. The objective of this research is to Identify the effect of mental health education on teenagers knowledge and capacity before and after engaging in early detection of mental health issues at SMK Swasta Abdi Nusantara. The research uses a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consists of 70 respondents, selected using a total sampling technique. Data are analyzed using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, and the results of the analysis show that a p-value of 0.000 (< 0.05) so that He is accepted. It can be concluded that there is an effect of giving mental health education on teenagers' knowledge and capacity to conduct early detection of mental health issues at SMK Swasta Abdi Nusantara. It is expected that future researchers who perform the same topic use different health media for the health care providers at the Puskesmas, especially the nurses who care for mental disorder patients, provide health education on early detection of mental health issues in teenagers in order to prevent the occurrence of mental disorders,
