Children are a vulnerable group for experiencing mental health issues because, during their developmental phase, they are not yet capable of making decisions and lack life experience in solving problems and facing life challenges. Music is applied as a therapy and can enhance, restore, and maintain physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health. This is because music has several advantages, such as being comforting, calming, inducing positive feelings, and creating relaxation. The aim of the senior practicum is to provide nursing care through the application of music therapy as self-healing to improve mental health in school-age children. Music therapy was conducted on school-age children between 9-12 years old from May 20 to May 24, 2024, at Agape Orphanage, Terehasan Medan. The results showed that after the therapy, children exhibited more relaxed, calm, and open attitudes in expressing their feelings, indicating that they were able to effectively apply this therapy
