This study examines the impact of TikTok usage intensity on adolescent
happiness in the digital era. As social media becomes deeply ingrained in youth
culture, understanding its effect on emotional well-being is essential. A
quantitative approach with correlational analysis was used, involving 384
adolescents aged 12-21 as respondents. Data was collected using the Oxford
Happiness Questionnaire and a TikTok usage intensity scale. The findings reveal
a significant positive correlation between TikTok usage intensity and adolescent
happiness, with usage intensity contributing up to 45.6% of the happiness variance
observed, while the remaining 54.4% is influenced by other factors. Most
respondents fell into the moderate intensity category (88.54%), and 46.35% of
participants were categorized as having high happiness levels. While moderate use
of TikTok promotes relaxation and social interaction, excessive usage may lead to
dependency, potentially compromising mental health. These results underscore
the importance of balanced social media usage for positive emotional outcomes.
